A SteadyCam is usually an expensive piece of equipment that stabilizes cameras and allows for those smooth, gliding shots you see in movies. Picosteady is a project from Kickstarter. It is a stabilizer device that designed to your iPhone. It’s got a pivoting handle and a counterweight and accommodates a range of cameras, not just the iPhone. It’s $139 on pre-order on Kickstarter, and it’s expected to go up to $179 in retail.
Canon has officially joined the mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, the new Canon EOS M($800), an 18-megapixel compact with touchscreen control and sized for your pocket. Features include a 3.0 inch smudge-resistant touchscreen, ISO 100-12800, an APS-C CMOS sensor and Full HD video recording. The EOS M uses a new lens system that’s smaller. The company has two lenses specially for the camera. The EOS M ships with a new EF-M 22mm f/2 STM lens. A longer, zooming EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens will also be available for $300.
The Polaroid’s Z2300 instant digital camera was unveiled at the 2012 CEA (consumer electronics association). A compact digital camera with built-in Zink printer. It features an integrated printer with ZINK printer, producing full-colour 2x3-inch prints in under a minute. It equipped with a 10 meagpixel image sensor and has a 3 inch LCD viewing display on the rear, and the camera can be stored photographs digitally via SD card. Available for pre-order at Polaroid, the Polaroid Z2300 will be arriving in stores on August 15th for around $160 with paper costing $15 for 30 sheets or $25 for 50 sheets. Flir has lauched a consumer grade thermographic image video camera, imaging based not on light but on heat. Called the Scout. It allows the user to see clearly in total darkness, smoke, dust and also light fog.

Sony’s new NEX camcorder, it looks great! Sony claims, the NEX-VG10 is “the world’s first consumer camcorder with interchangeable lenses”. The NEX VG10 will also accept Alpha mount lenses from Sony’s DSLR line with the use of an appropriate lens adapter. It can capture full 1920x1080 high definition video at up to 24Mbps. Sound comes in via a Quad Capsule Spatial Array Stereo Microphone(an array of four microphones is combined to make a stereo mix). Other features include a 3.0” LCD with sharp 921,000-dot resolution. It comes with an Sony18-200mm lens. And it can shoot the 14MP stills. The NEX-VG10 carries an initial retail price of $2000.

The PENTAX K-30($850) is a weather and dust resistant digital SLR camera. It sports a lightweight and compact body with weatherproof capabilities. The PENTAX K-30 features include a 16 megapixel APS-C sized CMOS image sensor, an optical finder with 100% field of view, full HD video recording, high-speed burst shooting at approximately six images per second, ISO speeds up to 25600, rechargeable Li-Ion or AA battery compatible and a 3-inch LCD. The company said that its new PENTAX K-30 will be available in July for the price of $849.95.
Nokia has announced the 808 PureView, a phone that incorporates a 41-megapixel camera the Nokia 808 PureView.(Yes, 41MP!!) as well as Carl Zeiss optics, and something the company calls “pixel oversampling technology.” Pixel oversampling technology is “the ability to zoom without loss of clarity and capture seven pixels of information, condensing into one pixel for the sharpest images imaginable,” It runs Nokia Belle OS (formerly called Symbian). The Nokia 808 PureView has specs that include a 4-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, 1.3GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion up to 32GB) and a battery life of 6.5 talk time hours over 3G.
